introducing Kristina Smolyar@ bloom model mgmt.

photographed and styled by me, Tarrice Love

Kristina Smolyar was great. She's from Russia but currently lives in Philly and was in NYC shopping herself around to the agencies and hit me up on modelmayhem. She was only in town for a few days and asked me if i could squeeze her in that week. I was gonna tell her no because i was thinking about how already overloaded I was with work but then I was like "this girl is kinda hot and I'd be foolish to pass on the opportunity to work with her". Anyway, when she arrived I was instantly inspired to do these high fashion meets eartherial ( i know i spell'd that wrong) angel. Again, with no stylist...i made her outfits and styled her myself. I also did the make-up myself. Kristina was great to work with, very professional and prompt. She took direction well and manage to deliver like a veteran. Bloom Model Mgmt. has a star in their mist....get ready.

Me against the world....GET 'EM!

i decided to add this video because it is my motivator. when i first saw this video it reminded me of myself and the struggles of what I am going through. When I was in Memphis i created hot-ness in a room in the back of my granny's house. Now i'm in New York creating better hot-ness in a smaller space. I have been doing my own styling, makeup, and hair. Since I don't have access to high fashion clothing, i create my own shit. It reminds me that dispite my limitations, I manage to (as Tim Gunn would say) make it work. This song is my anthem and when i hear it, it makes me feel like i can conquer all the odds against me.

Its hard being an artist from Memphis, Tn up here in NYC. I have to deal with a lot of ignorant stereotypes that make it difficult for new yorkers to believe that talent that exceeds their own can come from the south. Well look out y'all here's one country ass dude 'bout sho y'all that what I bring to the fashion table is valid. I apply the things I learned in college, the influences of my family, friends, and various countries I have traveled, and my street- sensibilities. If y'all ain't ready, then get ready...I'm 'bout to break y'all off somethin' ....WHOOP THAT TRICK, GET 'EM! LOL

presenting....Lost Without You

Before i came to New York - me and my friends got together to do one last big project...a music video. My cousin was interning at Interscope Records and got his hands on the Robin Thicke tune "lost without you" and slid it my way. I then collaborated with my friend video director, Arick Elion on the project. This was a project that paid homage to my nude work with a subtle re-telling of the biblical story of Genesis. I wanted the video to capture my photographs comming to life. The video features Tanieka Carter @ ny models, Brian Peters @ Ford Models NYC, Corey Reese @ Ford Models ATL and unsigned models Mercedes Ware, Brandon Parker, Jessica Henry, Allura Pulliam and a slew of others who appeared on my website when it was an online magazine.

here are a few behind the scenes clips from this video project:
